That's not a problem with the opals, its a problem with the melting pot not made to get hot enough. So I went to baking the moulds in my toaster oven to melt things better. I also came up with another method. You can take a melting pot project pan,
fill it with the Opals....then set it in the toaster oven (at 300 degrees F).
The opals melt beautifully this way and you can pour it into a mould. The
project pan does get hot this way....so I use this big old honkin' bent needle
nose plyer things I got out of my hubby's tool stash to remove the project pan
from the oven and pour with it.
