AccuCut Die Machine

Leslie Callahan Ryan lcallaha@tuc.com
My memory book store (and most probably) lets customers use their die cutters at no cost as long as you buy your paper/cs there. I reported a while back that I had called and asked if the things would cut corrugated cardboard (thinking of shapes to use for AG/UTEE multi-layer embossing). They didn't think it would fit but tried while I waited on the phone and were successful. Since they didn't sell corrugated cardboard, however, I would have to supply my own and "rent" the machine for $3.00 an hour.
Well, I finally put this to the test the other day and was able to cut great fist-sized pumpkins (with cut out faces, no less!) out of a former shipping box. I inked them with my orange Fabrico pad, applied several layers of AG, used my watercolor crayons from Lyra to add some "ribs" for dimension in a darker orange, and green to the stem. The tip? After you apply the crayon, you can reheat the surface to smooth the crayon material out, and to seal it from being rubbed off, just apply another layer of AG. Works like a charm!
