Book - Holy Moly Mackeroly
Author: Tyra L. Smith
(Book Author:  Gloria Page  http://holymolymackeroly.com)

When I first got a copy of Gloria Page's book "Holy Moly Mackeroly” (ISBN #0-9718901-0-2), I was only able to initially sit and thumb thru it a bit, read bits and pieces here and there. I was quickly convinced this is a book worth taking the time to fully read and absorb!!! It wasn't until almost a week later I actually had time to sit down and start "really" reading this book.

Due to an unforeseen recess soccer accident my son had at school ....I was stuck for FOUR HOURS in the emergency room with him - fortunately I had the book with me! Don't worry about #1 son, he's fine...mild concussion, a black eye with various scrapes and bruises. Of course, no one ever seems to get in any big hurry at the ER, and in and amongst waiting for a doctor, a CAT scan and the CAT scan results... I had quite a bit of time on my hands. Blake spent the "time" watching the little TV in our ER room and I spent the time holding his hand and reading my book. I figured that with as quickly as I read, I would at least get half way thru that book before we left. I figured wrong! Gloria's book is so entertaining.... so educational and inspiring....but it is done so expertly it is simply amazing. She teaches you thru the stories she tells about her life and art. There are no "how-to lists", no big words, and no complicated sets of instructions or overwhelming accounts of "success"...and never once does she say "you must do it THIS way and no other". What you do have is a charming autobiography of a woman just like any of us. A woman who is a wife and a mother and an artist....who enjoys art and found a way to make her passion a full-time part of her life. What I love most is that she didn't change her LIFE to accommodate her business. She created her business to fit her life and to compliment her chosen life style. And even if you don't have the desire to start your own business, this book is still an inspiration. It’s not just for those who want to have their own business. Gloria says her book is a reflection on the business of art AND the art of life - no truer words were ever spoken.

Gloria shares life stories and makes me smile with every word I read. I am inspired to be the best I can be, and thru her words I easily see that anything is possible if we want it badly enough. This is a book that will take me a while to read. I refuse to read it quickly. I want to cherish each word and extend the pleasure as I read it once....and probably read it over and over again. This is also a book I am going to have my oldest daughter read - she's 15.5 years old. While she isn't much of an "artist" (her words) .....I think Gloria's story is applicable to many things in life, not just art.

Gloria and her book “Holy Moly Mackeroly” are a pure breath of fresh air. I hope life will give her many more experiences and that she'll want to share them with us again, in another book!
