Smith (Manufacturer: MagicalFaerieland Products http://magicalfaerieland.safeshopper.com/) This is another very beautiful shimmery paint line. These paints are available in 52 colors. These paints are sold individually (1/4 ounce jars for $3 each) or in palette sets of 13 colors per set (1/4 once per color for $39.95 per palette), there are four separate palette sets. The paints are nicely transparent, and moderately lightfast. They do have a light glycerin base, but do not feel "slimy" to the touch. Faerie Myst paints will air dry on almost all surfaces including: matte cardstock, glossy cardstock, porcelain, wood, all brands of vellum, fired ceramic pieces, etc... I did find that many of the colors held nicely on dark/black cardstock, though they were more muted in shade. Faerie Myst did not air dry on transparencies, glass or vinyl. If the Faerie Myst does not air dry, clear embossing powder can be used as the sealant with very little loss of "shimmer". Faerie Myst may be mixed without muddying for custom colors. You can also tint the Faerie Myst with dye ink re-inkers, markers, powdered pigments, or other water based paints. Faerie Myst may be thinned with water to create nice, soft shimmery washes. The "shimmer" will remain mixed and equally suspended in the paint when thinned with water. I used 3-D Crystal Lacquer on top of a pair of wolf's eyes that painted with Faerie Myst and was happily surprised to find the eyes did not go cloudy when they dried. I also painted a small flower on a piece of porcelain and let it dry. I then added a layer of Liquid Laminate on top of the dry Faerie Myst for a glass like finish. When I went to check on it after it dried, my colors were still there and still shimmery. Do note that a sealant is not necessary if you do not want to use one. Faerie Myst can be used with a wide range of techniques including painting, stippling, brayering, sponging and even finger painting.
