Smith Manufacturer: PageSage http://www.pagesage.com/) This is another awesome educational dvd created by PageSage. It is an information-filled 103+ minutes long, jam-packed with more information and ideas than you can shake a stick at. . This is the fifth dvd that PageSage has created and it is just as valuable a resource as the first four. . Peggy Skycraft is an incredible instructor. She takes what initially seems like a very "fussy", difficult and time consuming technique and shows you just how easy and fun it can be. At first I thought...hmmm....this looks a bit more involved and difficult than I thought it would be. By the end of the dvd I was going back over it and making a list of the things I NEED to buy to do this awesome technique. Peggy Skycraft makes it look easy enough that even someone who knew absolutely nothing about marbling could come up with something unique. How awesome is that???? Another thing I particularly like is that Peggy identifies which products and tools are NECESSARY to purchase and which ones you can make yourself. She even tells you HOW to make some of the tools yourself. I tell you, I'll never go into a beauty supply store or home improvement store again without thinking of the things I can buy to make my own tools for marbling. Peggy fully explains two different approaches to marbling. First she tells you how to marble with watercolors and then she explains how to marble with more permanent colorants such as acrylic paints and dyes for fabric use. She shows you the basic technique of marbling and also goes in to some "freeform" type of marbling where you can actually create images within the marbled pattern. It sounds hard to do, but it isn't. Peggy makes it easy to learn. Another thing I quite like is that Peggy gives you all the information you need to find the products you might have to buy. There's no mad scramble to try to locate products you aren't familar with. After doing a little research, I was actually quite pleased to find that it won't cost all that much to buy the necessary products I don't have on hand. Peggy really does a great job of helping you cut costs by telling you how to make your own tools and how to use many products we already have on hand. After watching the DVD, I have a million and one ideas of things I need to make using the beautiful marbling techniques taught. I can't wait to jump in and marbel some fabric for use with quilting projects and marbling some papers to use with my paper craft applications. The topics covered in this DVD are as follows: BASICS: PATTERNS: MORE MARBELING: As always, the gallery and tips section of the dvd are well developed and totally interactive with the
rest of the dvd. At a price of $29.95 U.S. funds, if you have ever wanted to learn marbling, this the best education DVD on the topic I've ever seen. I consider it to be
a valuable addition to my reference materials library!
