Smith These items are "add ins".. they do not come in multiple colors, think of them as a "neutral"..a no color item. You add them to your existing paints to change the way they look and work. For example: if you have watercolors, mix in a drop of the pearlescent medium and it will lighten the color (sort of turn it pastel'ish) and make it satiny in appearance (think "satiny" like the petal of a flower). If you put some red watercolor in a palette, mix in a drop of the pearlescent medium, you get a nice pink satiny color paint. If you want it darker red, add more red watercolor. Don't have watercolors? Try mixing it with either dye inks, pigment inks or acrylic paints. You can use a waterbrush, dip it into the pearlescent medium and then brush over your finished stamped art to add a touch of soft shimmer. You could also use a blender pen to apply a thin layer of pearlescent medium to your stamped art. The pearlescent medium comes in a tube and runs about $4 or so per tube. (I got mine from RubberArt, Daler-Rowney brand). As stampers we are always trying to get the most for our money. I think of it this way...if you have a set of watercolors or reinkers, you can spend about $4 for the pearlescent medium and effectively double your paint & reinker collection. You would have your straight watercolors (matte in appearance), mix in pearlescent medium and you now have a quick drying paint that is satiny in appearance. You can use these mediums with ANY paint that is water based, not just watercolors. If you also have iridescent medium (see the product review on Iridescent Mediums), you then have TRIPLED your paint & reinker collection for under $10. Pearlescent medium is a wonderful item to have on hand, very versatile
